Performance

Play Paper at DuPage College (2003) ->

Bean Turner, Wrist Rubber and Flax Shard used by artists to perform in a recent Fluxus Concert. There are many versions of these instruments, in which flax and beans are used. The paper is air dried to make a rough torqued surface and the sound is made with beans falling down the inside of the instrument. The score is improvisational, based on interpreting groups of onion skins pressed in cellophane by naked feet and then suspended as a musical score. There are three oversized notations in the edition titled three songs. These scores are 10 or 12 feet long and read horizontally. In this photo, we are rehersing our sounds for the performance.
